Database To Link Job Seekers With Disabilities To Employers

Text Size  A  A

A government database will put the resumes of more than 1,900 people with disabilities in front of employers.

The database is part of the Workforce Recruitment Program for College Students with Disabilities from the U.S. Department of Labor. Recruiters from the program interviewed students and recent graduates with disabilities at college campuses across the country in order to compile the database.

“Historically, people with disabilities consistently have experienced difficulties finding employment regardless of the economic climate,” says Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis. “Providing an internship or first job to someone with a disability can provide a real jump-start in launching a successful career.”

The database is available to government and private sector employers at no charge.
