Medical Records Go High Tech

Forget hauling paperwork between doctors’ offices. A new application launched by the Mayo Clinic this week allows patients to input and track all of their medical information in a secure online site.

The Mayo Clinic Health Manager is a collaboration between the health care provider and Microsoft. Individuals can upload all of their medical information for free and then select who they want to view it — whether doctors or family members. The Health Manager stores the information and offers health tips to users according to the medical information that is input.

Anyone can use the service, whether or not they are patients at the Mayo Clinic.
