I have been searching far and wide for legal assistance to help a Rehab 504 case. DOJ ADA hotline doesn't even know what it is. LOCAL STATE and NATIONAL BARS HAVE NO LISTINGS FOR THIS EXPERTISE. With more budget cuts the State Voc Rehab is using even more discrimination, bad management practice and excuses to not help even more people disabled be able. Cap advocates funded by the state are conflicted. One told me he believed his job was to stop appeals. They are NOT fully educated or legally trained. They have no legal ethics training. They do not have the same training or skill level or resources as the state employees they would defend against . They have conversations and make agreements and don't tell the client. They are often persons with disability who were unable to access voc. rehab services themselves. So, while the state funds them, or controls fed funds, to pretend there is there is due process, it is set up to fail many and no accountability insures there is not due process. We need to set up standards and accountability at the federal level. We need skilled advocates that are more than window dressing. Thank you President OBama!
