A handful of familiar names are topping this year’s U.S. News & World Report ranking of training programs for special educators.

The magazine named Vanderbilt University’s graduate program in special education as the nation’s best. The University of Kansas claimed the second spot on the list.

Both schools retained the positions they held last year in the new ranking released this week.

Also rounding out the top 10 were special education programs at the University of Oregon, the University of Virginia, the University of Florida, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Washington, the University of Wisconsin-​Madison, the University of Illinois at ​Urbana-​Champaign and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

The list of special education programs is part of U.S. News’ 2015 Best Graduate Schools, which also features rankings for other disciplines including law, business and engineering.
