A sportscaster with cerebral palsy is getting his shot at the big time this week, calling a nationally-televised Major League Baseball game.

Jason Benetti, who was born with the developmental disability, will call a game pitting the Washington Nationals against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

The game will air on ESPN at 10 p.m. ET.

Benetti is no sports novice. He was hired earlier this year by the Chicago White Sox as a television play-by-play commentator for Comcast SportsNet Chicago and WGN Sports.

Since 2011, Benetti has also done play-by-play for ESPN calling college basketball, football, baseball and lacrosse as well as high school football, but Wednesday’s game will mark his national MLB debut.

Cerebral palsy affects Benetti’s balance and walking ability, but not his on-air delivery, according to ESPN.
