An attorney tasked by New York courts with managing money for dozens of individuals with illnesses and disabilities was charged Wednesday with taking more than $4 million from 23 of them and from the estate of one who had died.

Prosecutors are seeking to recover the funds taken so they may be returned to the individuals or their families. Rondos faces up to 25 years in prison.
