Some talented young adults with autism are getting a shot at the Hollywood big time by developing a portion of the new children’s film “Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer.”

The film, which opened nationwide last week, features the work of several individuals with autism who participate in a program called Exceptional Minds. The California nonprofit offers training and employment opportunities for those on the autism spectrum who have a penchant for animation, design and video editing.

The group created the end credits for “Judy Moody,” which is the biggest project yet that the organization has been involved with.

Producers of the film were so pleased with the experience that they now plan to include Exceptional Minds in future projects as well.

“We were able to develop some very marketable skills and demonstrate how young artists with serious social disabilities can have a meaningful place in Hollywood,” an instructor at Exceptional Minds told The Los Angeles Times. To read more click here.
