Police are investigating after a teen with autism who thought he was taking part in the popular “ice bucket challenge” reportedly had urine and feces dumped on him instead.

A Bay Village, Ohio mother says she found video of the incident on her 15-year-old son’s cellphone. In the clip, the teen is seen wearing only his underwear as a bucket allegedly containing bodily waste, spit and cigarette butts was poured over him.

“Once we found out about it, we were just horrified,” the teen’s mother, Diane, told FOX 8 in Cleveland. “I just can’t understand why kids would do something this cruel.”

The perpetrators allegedly used the teen’s phone to film the incident and then posted it on Instagram.

“He was embarrassed because he did not know what the contents were until afterwards and then he didn’t want anybody to know,” the mother said of her son.

The family — whose last name is not being released to protect the teen — reportedly wanted to make the video public in order to encourage other parents to talk to their kids about bullying.

Local police are investigating and said delinquency charges are possible for the perpetrators, FOX 8 reports.

A fundraiser for the ALS Association, individuals participating in the ice bucket challenge have a bucket of ice water dumped over their head in order to raise awareness of the condition known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Many people across the country, including numerous celebrities, have taken part and shared videos of their wet moment on social media.
