A new drama headed to prime-time television this month prominently features a character with Down syndrome.

The hourlong show “Stumptown” is based on the graphic novel by the same name.

The TV version coming to ABC stars Cobie Smulders as Dex Parios, a former Marine turned private investigator with a gambling debt, a complicated love life and a brother with Down syndrome to take care of in Portland, Ore.
