A bill in Congress would limit the public’s access to federally funded medical studies. And that has patient advocates and others in the health care community unhappy.

The Fair Copyright in Research Works Act, sponsored by U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., would limit the public’s access to PubMed Central, a government Web site with free access to federally-funded studies.

Critics say limiting access to such studies would prevent patients from the full benefits of medical advances discovered at taxpayer expense, reports the Detroit Free Press. To read more click here.
