A television series following the coming-of-age experience of a young man on the spectrum will get one final season.

Netflix said it will debut a fourth season of “Atypical” next month. The season will be its last.

The series centers on Sam Gardner, who has autism and is seeking love and independence as he enters adulthood. The new season finds Sam moving out of his parents’ home and struggling with college and what to expect as he looks to the future.

Keir Gilchrist, who plays Sam, does not have autism, but the series has featured several actors on the spectrum.

“The thing I am most proud of about our show is how we’ve worked to highlight the stories of people on the spectrum while also employing them,” said Robia Rashid, the show’s creator and executive producer. “Every season we have hired people with autism on and off the camera. We audition actors with disabilities for any role, even if the character is not scripted as having a disability. We work to have a diverse and inclusive set in every way.”

Ten new half-hour episodes of Atypical will be available for streaming on Netflix beginning July 9.
